Wedding Weekend

This weekend we headed up to New Braunfels for Cody and Brittany's wedding. The kids did great on the drive except for the hundreds of potty breaks for the boys. They definitely got their Daddy's peanut bladder!!! Claire was amazing in the car and only cried the last 15 or so minutes of each 5-6 hour drive. Like I said... amazing! The wedding was beautiful, but we have definitely decided that weddings are just not enjoyable at this stage with our kids! It is more like chaotic and exhausting. We had a great time though getting to see family and introducing Claire to many new faces. I meant to get many more pictures like Claire and her cousin Maddie Grace, who are only 11 days apart, but like I said it was chaotic!

Great Aunt Sherry meeting Claire for the first time.

Cooper and Shelby hugging it out. These two are big buddies!

These two have so much fun together.

The munchkins walking to the rehearsal dinner.

Daddy and Claire at the rehearsal dinner. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was lovely.

Claire at the wedding minutes after having an explosive diaper. I just knew that was going to happen in her pretty dress! Just part of having a newborn, I guess.

All Smiles!

Claire has started smiling this past week and it is so fun to see a reaction from her. The boys love when she smiles at them and are always quick to tell me that she is smiling at them. They continue to be great big brothers and love her so much. Tyler loves to give Claire her pacifier and Cooper loves to sit by her and hold her hand. It's hard to believe that she is almost 8 weeks! Claire will be taking her first road trip this weekend to Cody's wedding (Travis' cousin). Tyler will also be making his debut as a ring bearer! Should be a great weekend.

Sip and See

This past weekend some friends of mine threw Claire and me a Sip and See. It was so nice and the food was delicious!

Brooke, me, Josie, and Kandice

The diaper cake that Jessi made. Isn't it adorable?

Grandma Katy and Grandma Johnson with Claire. Claire is Grandma Katy's 11th great grandchild and she will get three more this year! She is also Grandma Johnson's 8th grandchild with one more on the way.

I think Claire looks like a doll in this picture. Gram bought her the beautiful dress she is wearing.

Feathered Friends

The other night I was sitting in the living room with Claire when I heard a tap on the glass of the back door. I turned around to see a duck tapping his beak on the window. I got up to take a peek and saw that the duck had seven ducklings waddling behind her. I thought they were so cute so I snapped a picture. The next morning we woke up and Travis looked out the master bedroom windows and saw that the ducks were back, but this time they were in the pool! We went to show the boys and they thought it was hilarious. By mid morning they were still in the pool and I realized they were trying to get out, but the ducklings weren't big enough to jump out and couldn't yet fly. The mama duck kept getting out and walking around and you could tell she was worried. I got a piece of wood to make a ramp from the top step in the pool to the sidewalk in hopes they would use it to get out of the pool. We left to go somewhere and when we came back that afternoon I went to check on the ducks and all but three ducklings were gone. I felt horrible that the ducklings were separated from their mama. I used the net to get them out and put them in the grass. They waddled off towards the fence in the backyard, but within thirty minutes they were back in the pool! The boys were so concerned for the ducks that they weren't with their mama. I kept reassuring them that if they were lost I would keep looking for them until I found them and the mama duck would come find the ducklings too. We left that evening and when we got home all of the ducklings were gone so hopefully the mama did come back for them!

Sweet Dreams

The other night Tyler insisted on sleeping in his "tent". It's actually part of a set of tunnels that you can velcro together and the kids can crawl through. Well, he decided that he and his stuffed animals needed to sleep in the tent. I decided that this wasn't going to be a battle I was going to pick and so I told him it was fine. I went to check on him before I went to bed that night and this is what I found!

Daddy's Girl

Today we took Claire to the doctor for her checkup. She weighed in at 10 lb. 8 oz and was 22 inches long! She is doing great and is obviously eating well. Last night she slept great too. After eating at 10:15 she slept until 4:30 then slept until 7:15. She is a great sleeper which is much appreciated. We think she is beautiful and sometimes I just can't believe that she is mine! Her brothers are absolutely in love with her as well.

Guest Room Remodel

We have finally been finishing up some things around here. We are getting closer and closer to being done with the remodel and we are both SO READY! This has taken way longer than I imagined, but it has been well worth it in the end. So I'm ready to reveal the guest room. This is by far one of my favorite rooms in the house. It just seems so inviting and cozy. You might just have to come visit to see for yourself! Now onto the pictures!

This picture shows the lovely maroon carpet that the previous owners installed. In this room we scraped the popcorn ceiling, installed new doors, painted trim, installed hardwood floors, and installed a new window to replace the glass block windows you see in the picture below.

The glass block window that we replaced. The guest room was added on to the original house by the previous home owners. I have no idea why they put a slender glass block window in this room, but it had to go! We installed some new windows in our sunroom and recycled one of the windows and installed it in this room.

Shelving the previous home owners installed since they used the room as an office. We ended up taking it out because it made the room so much smaller.

Looking from the guest room into the sunroom.

Here are the afters:
Most of this room I bought in Canton! The bed, bedding, chair, side table, shutters, and accessories all came from Canton. The bed and bedding were the same that I had in the old house.

A view from the other side of the room.

I still need to add something to this wall. I know what I want to do, but I haven't found what I need to complete it, and frankly I haven't had time!

I love this little table I found in Canton. Just wanted to add a close up!

Movie Night

Tonight we had a movie and ice cream night to celebrate Tyler's hard work in AWANA this year. I bought some ice cream and toppings and let the boys put whatever they wanted on their ice cream. We laid out a blanket in the living room and ate ice cream while we watched the movie "Cars". The boys were SO excited about getting to have an ice cream party. Here are some pictures from our night:

Tyler putting sprinkles on his ice cream.

Do you think he has enough sprinkles???

Showing off their finished products.

Can't wait to dig in!!!

Ready for the movie

Paging Dr. Johnson

The other day the boys decided to play Doctor with Claire. Claire got a shot in the leg, but no worries, Cooper held her hand so she wouldn't cry!

Cubbies

Wednesday night was Tyler's AWANA awards ceremony. He got his Cubby Bear patch for memorizing all of his verses for this year. He learned over 25 verses this year and we are so proud of him for all of his hard work.

Tyler and Daddy before the ceremony.

Poor Aunt Kelsey got suckered into coming with Grandma and Grandpa. The ceremony was awfully long and she was so sweet to sit through it.

Boat Ride

The boys climbed in Claire's bouncy seat the other day and were pretending it was their boat. One of them would drive and the other would get out "on the dock". These boys crack me up with their wild imaginations. By the way the pajamas were from Grandma and have been a BIG hit! I had to pry them off of them to get them washed just so they could put them on again!

Visitors

We've had quite a few visitors the past couple of weeks. I haven't managed to get everyones picture, but here are some of our family with baby Claire. She is going to be very spoiled with all the attention she has been getting.

Aunt Christine and her favorite niece. We are so glad Christine was able to come down and visit for a few days. We had a lot of fun while she was here- shopping, mani/pedis, and eating out. The boys were in LOVE with their aunt and were very sad when she had to leave.

Travis' grandparents were out of town when Claire was born so they came to meet her one evening. Claire was wide awake the whole time Grandma Katy held her.

Papa getting some Claire loving before they went home. This is probably one of the only times Papa sat down the whole time he was here. He worked hard and worked Travis hard while he was here. They were busy installing ceiling fans, light fixtures, fixing sprinkler heads, preparing the yard for landscaping, and shoveling the rest of those annoying landscape rocks out of the yard. They did take a day off to go fishing, but Papa's fishing curse is alive and well. Travis may never convince Papa to go fishing again!

Gram also worked hard doing tons of laundry, cleaning the house, and of course loving on Claire! They probably need a vacation after being here for so long.

Grandma and Claire. Grandma couldn't wait to get over here after returning from Florida. She has been a big help with all of the kids. She has helped me get the boys to and from school and best of all took the boys with her and Grandpa to Port Lavaca to visit family. The boys were so excited about going and I know they had a blast.

2012

It's time for our recap of 2012!  This year has brought some major answer to prayers and we have seen the hand of God move in incredible...
