Lil' Cowboy

Sorry for the lack of pictures lately, but we really haven't been doing too much around here. Here is a picture of Tyler riding his rocking horse that his Great-Grandpappy made for him before bed last night. He loves it and can make it rock back and forth by itself. He also likes to try to get on and off by himself.

In other news, Tyler got his tubes yesterday. He did really well and the procedure was literally only 15 minutes or so. He had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia, but they said that was to be expected. Before they took him back to the operating room they gave him some valium to calm him down and make it easier to take him away from us. He was so out of it and had the goofiest look on his face. We wanted to take some home with us for those days we just can't handle chasing him around anymore!!!

I also went to the OB today and everything is looking good. I'm 85% effaced and dilated to a 3! I'm pretty sure Cooper isn't going to make it to July 23. I better get my bootie in gear and get everything ready!

Cooper Update

I had a regular OB appointment today and the doctor said Cooper is sounding beautiful. I'm already dilated to a 1.5 and 70% effaced! She said that Cooper is head down (yea!) and he is at a -1 station. This means that he is getting closer and closer to making an appearance! Maybe Cooper will be early- any guesses of when he will make his grand entrance?

Diapers...I don't need no stinkin' diapers

Well, we have hit a new low in the Johnson Household today. This afternoon before Tyler's nap I changed his diaper. Instead of putting his shorts back on I decided to just leave him in his diaper, which isn't unusual for me to do. This afternoon when I went to get him up from his nap I noticed that the floor by his crib was wet- just a little spot. I thought to myself- surely he is not drooling that much that the carpet is noticeably wet. So I go to pick him up and notice that his diaper is sitting neatly in the corner of the crib and Tyler has no diaper on! He had managed to take his diaper off and he peed all over the bumper pads, sheets, and floor!!! The diaper was completely dry! He was happy as could be and I couldn't help but laugh. I'm just SO very thankful he didn't have to poop! Needless to say Tyler Johnson will not be taking any naps in just his diaper!

14 months!

Tyler is now fourteen months! He is growing up fast and Travis and I have both noticed him doing more and more big things! He is learning new things all the time and has really started to babble a lot more. He has learned two new signs in the last week- shoes and baby. Yesterday I showed him where Baby Cooper was in my tummy and I asked him to give the baby kisses and he did. Later when Travis came home we asked him where the baby was and he lifted my shirt and kissed my belly! It was really cute, but I'm pretty sure he is still clueless about what that really means. He is a really loving little boy and loves to give kisses to everyone, including his teddy bear and the pictures in his books. He seems to really be interested in his books lately, always wanting to look at new ones. Most of the time he isn't patient enough to sit there and let us read him the book. Tyler also loves playing with his tractors (which were actually Travis' as a little boy). I guess when we play tractors with him we make "tractor noises" because he has now started making noises when he plays with his tractors. It's really funny to hear.

This past weekend the Johnson's came to visit and we all had a good time. Tyler loves playing with his Grandma and Papa. Uncle Ross and Aunt Kim came to visit from Katy too. Tyler loves all of the attention he gets from everyone. The boys also built Tyler a sandbox in the backyard. It's really nice and he loves playing in it. I'll have to get some pictures of him in the sandbox and post them later.

My future is so bright, I gotta wear shades!

Celebrating 5 Years!

Travis and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Friday, June 8. I can't believe that it has already been 5 years. What is really weird is that Travis and I have been together for 10 years since we dated 5 years before getting married!!! That's crazy! Anyway, we were able to go out on Saturday night to celebrate since the Johnson's were in town. So while Tyler was with his grandparents we went to a really nice steakhouse and then to the movies. We had a great time and had great conversation about what we had done in our first five years of marriage and where we thought we might be after the next five years. I can't wait to see where God takes us.

Tubes for Tyler

Today I took Tyler to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor due to his recurring ear infections. Tyler did awesome at the doctor's office- we were there for over 2 hours during his regular naptime!!! He thought getting his hearing checked was really fun. They use speakers right under some toys that light up and make noise. He was smiling from ear to ear! The doctor recommended that we go ahead and put tubes in his ears to stop the infections and prevent any permanent hearing loss. He said that he had some low tone hearing loss that is only temporary due to fluid currently in his ears. His procedure will be on June 26th, so you can pray for us on that day.

Trip to the Zoo

Today we took Tyler to the zoo for the first time. Uncle Ross and Aunt Kim met us there and braved the heat with us. He had a good time, but I think Uncle Ross had the best time out of everyone. Tyler might still be a little young to appreciate the zoo, but he did notice a lot of the animals. All of the adults were pooped after we left, but Tyler was as energetic as ever!

The baby elephant was really cute!

It's a Man Bag!

Tyler has a thing for bags. It started with this little cowboy bag that hangs in his room. He started pointing at it and wants to carry it around with him wherever he goes. He has since discovered that he can carry my purse around the house as well.

Daddy's Little Helper

Helping Daddy sweep the driveway.

Getting ready to mow the yard.

No Deal!

Well, last week we got some disappointing news- we were not able to complete the sale of the house. The appraisal of the house came back a little less than the contract price (which happens frequently from what we understand), but the people were unwilling to negotiate with us. They were financing 100% with a VA loan and the VA was nothing but trouble. We were really upset about it and that is why we haven't blogged about it until now. I was afraid I might use some choice words that might offend someone and this is a family friendly blog! The house is now back on the market for anyone who needs a new home!

2012

It's time for our recap of 2012!  This year has brought some major answer to prayers and we have seen the hand of God move in incredible...
