Look at Me!!!

Tyler is learning to sit by himself! We are practicing a little each day but he is doing well so far. Hopefully he will master this skill soon. I don't think crawling will be too far off, he is already pushing himself up on his knees. That will definitely change things!

Solid Foods!

On Monday I introduced Tyler to rice cereal and he has been gobbling it up ever since! He loves it and it has made the world of difference in our days! He takes much better naps and is happy all day long! Last week I noticed he had been fussy a lot which is very unusual for him and he had not been sleeping well. So after talking to my mom I decided to try solid foods to see if it would help and it did!!! Here are some pictures of the main event! By the way, it's hard to see the cereal all over his face because it blends in with his pale complexion!

Weekend in Harlingen

Well, we survived our first major road trip with Tyler. We all traveled to Harlingen for Kelsey's wedding. Tyler was really great in the car and it helped that one of us could sit in the back seat with him if he needed some entertainment. We didn't get much sleep the entire weekend between all of the festivities and sharing a room with Tyler who decided he didn't really want to sleep most of the weeknd. Sarah's mom and dad came down as well to help with Tyler and we would have never survived without them. Tyler did great at the wedding and reception even on little sleep.

We had some drama on the way home to Houston on Sunday. About two hours into our trip the AC went out in the car. We pulled into a Whataburger in Kingsville because we were worried about Tyler in the heat and ran into Uncle Dale and Aunt Linda. Sarah and Tyler rode with them to Refugio while Travis drove in the heat. Then Travis' cousin Katy and her boyfriend picked us up in Refugio and drove us into Houston. Needless to say we were all glad to be home on Sunday.

Little Tadpole

Last week Tyler and I went to College Station to visit Christine and the boys. We took the boys to the pool for the afternoon. It was Tyler's first swimming experience. He didn't really like it at first but after a few minutes he seemed to enjoy it. I had to really lather him up in suncreen since he is such a white boy!

Raccoons

I saw these 2 little raccoons in my subdivision today. They came right up to my truck. I've never seen raccoons that small. It was pretty cool.

A great be your own builder advertisement

This is two pictures of houses that are being built in the neighborhood I am working in. One of them was a person who contracted the house themselves and the other one is a house I am building currently. The other house started 2 weeks before mine and the frame isn't even finished. My house is already being sheetrocked and bricked. The frame literally looks like it could fall down at any minute. Good job!

Fishing trip

Two weeks ago I went fishing down in Port O' Connor with some college friends of mine. We had a lot of fun and caught some decent fish. My college roomate Trey fished a shark tournament on Saturday and they ended up winning with an 80 pound bull shark.

4 Months!

Tyler is 4 months old today, can you believe it? He is growing so fast. We went to the doctor yesterday for his 4 month checkup and he now weighs 12 lbs. 9 oz. (25th percentile) and is 25 3/4 inches long (75th percentile). He is definitely a long and skinny baby. He is doing well and learning new tricks all the time. He is smiling, laughing, rolling from his tummy to his back, grabbing toys, jewelry, mom's hair, dad's chest hair, and anything in sight. He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth to check it out. He has also learned to multi-task... today he sneezed and tooted at the same time! He loves to watch other kids, especially Ava, a little girl in our playgroup. Here are the latest pictures...
