Kinder Graduation!

Tyler graduated from Kindergarten today!  They had a cute little ceremony and the kids were all so excited.  We are super proud of Tyler for all of his hard work this year.  He has excelled in his school work and most importantly he has displayed great character.  And today he got rewarded for both.  As the kids walked across the stage they were awarded a certificate and some received trophies for their achievement.  Tyler received the P.E. Hustle and Heart award.  Their was one student from each class that received it.  He was super excited about getting a trophy.  Then at the end of the ceremony they handed out some special awards.  They handed out six awards to six children that exhibited characteristics of their core values and the first name called was Tyler!  We are so proud of him!  Here are some pictures from the day:

The kids had an ABC poem and Tyler was the G, "For the Good friends we made throughout the year."

Pen Pals

Cooper recently got a special pen pal named, Luis.  We sponsor three different Compassion kids.  One of them we had before we had kids and last year when Tyler turned 5 we picked a child the same age as him so they could grow up writing letters back and forth.  So as Cooper is approaching 5, I thought I would check to see if there was someone special we could pick for him.  I searched by birthdays and Luis came up with Cooper's exact same birthday- 7/17/07.  So I knew he was perfect for Cooper!  He lives in the Dominican Republic and Cooper wrote him for the first time the other day.  He was so excited!

If you don't know anything about Compassion, go check out their website and consider sponsoring a child.  They do great things for these kids while sharing the message of Jesus.

Awana Awards

Last week the boys had their Awana Awards Night.  They both received their ribbons for completing their book.  They both learned a lot of verses.  I've noticed it is getting easier for Tyler to memorize his verses now that he can read.

Miss Priss wanted to go on stage SO BAD!  Much of the time different kids were going up on stage, she was loudly exclaiming, "My Turn, My Turn"!  When Tyler headed up on stage she yelled loudly, "Tyler's turn, Tyler's turn"!  So after the ceremony was over we let her have some time on stage to herself.
