2 Months!

Claire turned 2 months last week and yesterday we headed to the doctor for her 2 month appointment. She is doing great! She weighed in at a little over 12 pounds and was 23.5 inches long. She is still at 75% for both height and weight. Claire has slept through the night a couple of times, I just wish she would get more consistent! She is such a great baby and I feel like she spends most of her time in the car seat because we are on the go. She is full of smiles and we are all in love with her!

Busy!

We have been busy, busy....

Playing in the mud,

attending Algodon events,

and celebrating Travis' birthday!

For those who don't know what Algodon is I'll explain. It was started 50 plus years ago to help promote the agriculture and cotton industry in the valley. Travis' family has been involved with it over the years. Many of his family members and extended family members have been on the Algodon court and the Board of Directors. This year we were asked to serve on the Board and we will continue to serve for three more years. We thought it would be a good way to meet some more people and get involved in the community. We were busy with all the festivities from Thursday to Saturday and completely worn out. We didn't get home until 2 am on Sunday morning and I hadn't even gone to sleep yet when Claire woke up.

Sunday we celebrated Father's Day by taking Travis' Dad out to lunch and then we all crashed that afternoon for naps. Sunday night we celebrated with Travis' extended family with swimming and hamburgers.

Yesterday was Travis' birthday and we celebrated him with a gift telling him all the reasons why we love him. His office had a breakfast in his honor, I made him an apple pie, and we went out to eat with his Dad last night.

This week we are busy getting ready for some visitors this weekend and our trip to visit Gram and Papa next week. The boys are really excited for the trip because the Hoovers will be there as well. I'm sure it will be nothing but chaos!

Worship Leaders

The boys have learned this song from sitting in on the worship time in church. The last part was improvised. They will often times play "church" with the guitar and drum set from Rockband. I had to bribe them with gum to get them to sing for the camera. I think they would be great for Charlottesville Community Church. What do you think Kyle and Christine???

Wedding Weekend

This weekend we headed up to New Braunfels for Cody and Brittany's wedding. The kids did great on the drive except for the hundreds of potty breaks for the boys. They definitely got their Daddy's peanut bladder!!! Claire was amazing in the car and only cried the last 15 or so minutes of each 5-6 hour drive. Like I said... amazing! The wedding was beautiful, but we have definitely decided that weddings are just not enjoyable at this stage with our kids! It is more like chaotic and exhausting. We had a great time though getting to see family and introducing Claire to many new faces. I meant to get many more pictures like Claire and her cousin Maddie Grace, who are only 11 days apart, but like I said it was chaotic!

Great Aunt Sherry meeting Claire for the first time.

Tyler being silly at the rehearsal.

Cooper and Shelby hugging it out. These two are big buddies!

These two have so much fun together.

The munchkins walking to the rehearsal dinner.

Daddy and Claire at the rehearsal dinner. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was lovely.

Claire at the wedding minutes after having an explosive diaper. I just knew that was going to happen in her pretty dress! Just part of having a newborn, I guess.

Tyler and the flower girl walking down the aisle. They did not even attempt to walk together! Here is Tyler stopping to blow kisses at his Grandma.

Tyler swinging the pillow around.

Tyler stopping to tell me hello! I had to remind him to keep walking. He looks so handsome!

Brittany was a beautiful bride and we are all so happy she has officially joined the family!

All Smiles!

Claire has started smiling this past week and it is so fun to see a reaction from her. The boys love when she smiles at them and are always quick to tell me that she is smiling at them. They continue to be great big brothers and love her so much. Tyler loves to give Claire her pacifier and Cooper loves to sit by her and hold her hand. It's hard to believe that she is almost 8 weeks! Claire will be taking her first road trip this weekend to Cody's wedding (Travis' cousin). Tyler will also be making his debut as a ring bearer! Should be a great weekend.

Sip and See

This past weekend some friends of mine threw Claire and me a Sip and See. It was so nice and the food was delicious!

Brooke, me, Josie, and Kandice

The diaper cake that Jessi made. Isn't it adorable?

Grandma Katy and Grandma Johnson with Claire. Claire is Grandma Katy's 11th great grandchild and she will get three more this year! She is also Grandma Johnson's 8th grandchild with one more on the way.

I think Claire looks like a doll in this picture. Gram bought her the beautiful dress she is wearing.

Feathered Friends

The other night I was sitting in the living room with Claire when I heard a tap on the glass of the back door. I turned around to see a duck tapping his beak on the window. I got up to take a peek and saw that the duck had seven ducklings waddling behind her. I thought they were so cute so I snapped a picture. The next morning we woke up and Travis looked out the master bedroom windows and saw that the ducks were back, but this time they were in the pool! We went to show the boys and they thought it was hilarious. By mid morning they were still in the pool and I realized they were trying to get out, but the ducklings weren't big enough to jump out and couldn't yet fly. The mama duck kept getting out and walking around and you could tell she was worried. I got a piece of wood to make a ramp from the top step in the pool to the sidewalk in hopes they would use it to get out of the pool. We left to go somewhere and when we came back that afternoon I went to check on the ducks and all but three ducklings were gone. I felt horrible that the ducklings were separated from their mama. I used the net to get them out and put them in the grass. They waddled off towards the fence in the backyard, but within thirty minutes they were back in the pool! The boys were so concerned for the ducks that they weren't with their mama. I kept reassuring them that if they were lost I would keep looking for them until I found them and the mama duck would come find the ducklings too. We left that evening and when we got home all of the ducklings were gone so hopefully the mama did come back for them!

Sweet Dreams

The other night Tyler insisted on sleeping in his "tent". It's actually part of a set of tunnels that you can velcro together and the kids can crawl through. Well, he decided that he and his stuffed animals needed to sleep in the tent. I decided that this wasn't going to be a battle I was going to pick and so I told him it was fine. I went to check on him before I went to bed that night and this is what I found!

2012

It's time for our recap of 2012!  This year has brought some major answer to prayers and we have seen the hand of God move in incredible...
