12 Month Checkup

We went to the Dr. today for Cooper's 12 month checkup and he looks great, although he did have an ear infection! I absolutely HATE ear infections probably because Tyler had so many during his first year of life. They are just so tricky to figure out whether something is really wrong and I absolutely HATE when I think they have one and lug the boys to the Dr. and pay $70 just to have them tell me they are fine. I had a little suspicion that Cooper had an ear infection last week, but I waited it out because I knew we would be going to the Dr. today for his checkup.

Anyway, Cooper was 31.5 inches long (90th percentile) and weighed in at 23 pounds 5 ounces (50th percentile). He is a tall boy! He is an inch longer than Tyler was at 1 year. Cooper is doing well and this past week he has given up his baby food and is enjoying eating table foods. Hopefully we will kick this ear infection fast and have him feeling better.

Fried Turkey

Travis and some of his friends went down to Galveston Friday night to go Flounder giggin'. I don't even think they saw any Flounder, but they came back with a lot of blue crab. Saturday night Tim and Travis boiled the crab in our turkey fryer. Sunday afternoon Travis was cleaning the fryer out and Tyler decided he needed to help. Then he decided it was the perfect size for him to climb in and take a dip. Yes, we might have a little white trash in us!

Happy Birthday Cooper!

I can't believe my baby boy turned 1 today! We had two celebrations for Cooper's birthday. We celebrated a couple of weekends ago with my side of the family and today we celebrated with Grandma Johnson, Aunt Kristi, Cade, and Bailey. We had a good time eating cupcakes and opening presents. Travis sang "Happy Birthday" to Cooper this morning in his crib and he clapped for his daddy when he finished. At 1 Cooper is not interested in walking and he is definitely a Mama's boy!!! He gets rave reviews in the nursery or when we leave him with other people, but when I'm around he definitely chooses to whine to me! Cooper loves to be around other people and loves watching other kiddos. He loves to give open mouth kisses and bathtime. We love our little Cooper and can't wait to see him grow!

Peas, Anyone?

Cooper hasn't been the easiest baby to transition to table foods, but we finally found something he will eat! PEAS! He loves them and gobbles them up when we put them in front of him. My baby boy turns 1 tomorrow! I can't believe it. I started sorting pictures last night for his baby book and I just don't know where the time has gone. We have survived the first year of having two kiddos and we managed not to get pregnant!!!
